Beverly Osu denies having sex in the BBA House

We all saw what we saw but Beverly Osu says we saw wrong, that she never had sex with Angelo in the Big Brother Africa house.

She tells Punch “Angelo and I never had sex.I didn’t have sex in the house. I never had sex in the house. But we saw the two of you in the bath tub, making love We didn’t have sex. It was not an option for us. I don’t know where the people outside got the story from. I was shocked
when I came out of the house and learnt that we had sex. I cannot take my bath with a swimming suit. We all take our bath naked. I shouldn’t be singled out because I went for a reality show. I am not different

What of all the other intimate things you did with Angelo? Didn’t you mind that the whole world was watching?
Whatever I was doing with Angelo, I didn’t even think I was on TV. It was just the two of us. We didn’t plan anything, we were just happy. No matter how people will look at it, I don’t regret anything I did with Angelo. I didn’t bring out the video and said everybody should look at me. Big Brother brought out the video.

How come it was Angelo you fell in love with in the house? I had so many options to choose from in the house but I wasn’t attracted to any of them. But for some reasons I still do not
understand, I fell in love with Angelo. I got attracted to him from the first day I saw him. For now, I will see where the relationship will take us.

So, you don’t mind the difference in nationalities? There is no race when it comes to love. I can always go there and he can come here.

Don’t you think you embarrassed Nigeria in the house? I was in the house to represent Nigeria. Of all the people that went for the audition, I was chosen. If anybody feels he can do better, he should go and get BBA form next year and apply and get in the house. I know I represented Nigeria very well.

You said so many things in the house. Were they all true or were you looking for sympathy?
I am a shy person. I shy away from a lot of things. But I was ‘open’ in the house. I say what is on my mind. For me to reveal
myself to the world, I was just talking to my housemates. I don’t regret anything I said about myself or my family. People have to know the real me.

You mentioned something about a boyfriend that abused you. Were you referring to 2shots?
No. I wasn’t referring to him. For me, 2shots is history. Thank you for reminding me about him.

Is your mother happy with you? Even if the whole world rejects me, my mother cannot reject me. I love her so much. I am her only daughter and last born. She has always been there for me. I wouldn’t want to disappoint my mum intentionally.

Were there things you did in the house you regret? Nothing. I don’t have any regrets. I was in a beautiful house. I loved Melvin. He was the best in the house. Meeting everybody in the house was a blessing. I don’t regret anything.

What would you have done with the prize money if you had won? I would have finished school. I would have started my make-up line. Trust me; I would have done a lot of things. Everybody has a degree. I must get a degree. With my degree, I can go further and do anything I want to do.

Teenager flies Arik Air from Benin to Lagos hiding in tyre hole

A teenager named Daniel Ikehina unbelievably beat airline and airport security at the Benin airport on Saturday August 24th and sneaked into the tyre compartment of a Lagos-bound Arik flight. The boy flew safely with the aircraft which left Benin around
9am and landed at Murtala Muhammed airport, hidden throughout in the undercarriage. He was immediately arrested by airport security after passengers saw him emerging from the aircraft tyre hole. Arik spokesman Banji Ola explains what happened: The management of Arik Air has expressed shock over the incident wondering how the teenager beat the Aviation Security
personnel at the Benin Airport to get to the runway. The pilot of Arik Air flight W3 544, departing Benin Airport for Lagos at 9.00am on 24th August, 2013 reported to the control tower the presence of a strange boy in the bush about 200 – 300 meters at the end of runway 23. The control tower told the Captain that they were sending security men to the place to arrest the boy. As the captain was making his final turn, preparatory for take-off, a cabin crew called his attention to the information by
some of the passengers that they saw a boy running towards the airplane. The First Officer confirmed that they had observed it earlier and alerted the control tower which responded that they have sent the patrol team to arrest the boy. The Captain again reported to the control tower and was informed that the situation was under control and that he had been cleared for take-off. On arrival at the domestic wing of MMA, Lagos, a teenage boy, who apparently had sneaked into the aircraft main wheel well jumped out and was arrested by Arik personnel and handed over to FAAN security. Meanwhile the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) blamed Arik Air for the incident.
FAAN said in a statement: “Arik Air acted with impunity by not stopping the aircraft to check when the crew and ground personnel’s attention was drawn to an abnormality on the tarmac. This is arrant display of impunity. The aircraft should not have taxied further, but return to the apron until a proper check is carried out on all parts of the aircraft. FAAN will not tolerate such impunity henceforth from Arik or any airline. Any violation would be met with applicable sanctions.

Skin Care(Sunburn)

Getting a sunburn is a very bad idea. It looks bad, hurts, peels and inflicts long-lasting, wrinkle-
inducing damage. It’s especially bad for children: Even one blistering burn may double their lifetime
risk of melanoma, a serious skin cancer. And it’s totally preventable (with sunscreen, shade and clothing). But mistakes happen. So here are five ways to ease the pain and maybe, just maybe, limit
the damage…

1. If you feel the tale-tell tingling of a burn or see any sign of skin reddening on
yourself or your child, get out of the sun and start treatment. “Sunburn tends
to sneak up on us. It can take four to six hours for the symptoms to develop,”
says Barton Schmitt, a pediatrician at Children’s Hospital Colorado and author
of a new book, My Child Is Sick! Expert Advice for Managing Common Illnesses and Injuries, published by the American Academy of Pediatrics. So a touch of pink at the beach could turn into a big problem later.

2. After a cool shower or bath, slather on a moisturizing cream or lotion to soothe
the skin. Repeat frequently to make peeling and flaking less noticeable. And
consider a product containing vitamin C and vitamin E: It might help limit skin
damage (though studies have not proved that), says Shawn Allen, a
dermatologist in Boulder, Colo., and spokesman for The Skin Cancer
Foundation. It’s also OK to use a hydrocortisone cream for a day or two to relieve discomfort, Allen says. Not OK: scrubbing, picking or peeling your skin
or breaking blisters.

3. Any burn draws fluid to the skin surface and away from the rest of the body.
So drink extra water, juice and sports drinks for a couple of days and watch
for signs of dehydration: Dry mouth, thirst, reduced urination, headache,
dizziness and sleepiness. Children are especially vulnerable, so check with a
doctor if they appear ill.

4. Take (or give your child) a dose of ibuprofen (for example, Advil) as soon as
you see signs of sunburn and keep it up for the next 48 hours, Schmitt
advises. “It cuts back on the swelling and redness that is going to occur” and
might prevent some long-term skin damage. “It’s not just treating the
symptoms; it’s treating the severity of the symptoms.” Acetaminophen (for
example, Tylenol) will treat the pain, but does not have the same anti- inflammatory effect.

5. Most sunburns, even those that cause a few blisters, can be treated at home.
But if a blistering burn covers 20% or more of the body (a child’s whole back),
seek medical attention, Allen says. Anyone with a sunburn who is suffering
fevers and chills should also seek medical help, he says. Finally: Consider the
burn a warning that your sun-safety net has failed and vow to do better. That
means using sunscreen, covering up with clothing and hats and avoiding the sun as much as possible between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
